What is the difference between traditional braces and clear aligners?

Are clear aligners painful?

Additionally, patients may experience some soreness when their aligners are first placed, similar to the feeling of having an orthodontic wire tightened.

How long do I need to wear my clear aligners?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of misalignment, as well as other factors such as age and oral hygiene. Generally, clear aligner treatments last anywhere from 6-18 months, but can be shorter or longer depending on the patient's needs. During this time, patients should wear their aligners for at least 22 hours per day, taking them out only for eating, drinking and brushing.

Do clear aligners require any special care?

Yes. Clear aligners should be cleaned regularly with a non-abrasive toothpaste and cold water to prevent buildup of bacteria or plaque. Additionally, they should be stored in their provided case when not in use to keep them clean and safe.
